About the Qualification

Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings (TGS) collaborates with the Government of Gibraltar Training Centre to provide a bespoke NVQ Fitter qualification.

The training awards an NVQ from EAL which is internationally recognised in UK territories. This certification ensures the training and work assessments (both written and practical) undertaken are in line and up to the international standards of the trade. The course includes Health and Safety as well as knowledge and practical work assessments to ensure that the individual is capable of performing their work in a safe and professional manner under England, Wales and Northern Ireland standards. The NVQ is bespoke to the unique nature of the vehicle modifications carried out in the TGS business and will teach all candidates undertaking the course to carry out this type of work.

The training combines mechanical and fitting courses that have been carefully chosen to produce expert Fitters. The NVQ is fully funded by TGS and GOG Training Centre. The people studying towards this qualification are given a work contract with the company and those who complete and pass the NVQ will maintain continuous employment. Intake for the NVQ is managed cyclically.
