About the Qualification

The NVQ Fitter qualification, offered by Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings (TGS) in collaboration with the Government of Gibraltar Training Centre, is a specialised training program. This qualification, awarded by EAL, is internationally recognised across UK territories. It ensures that both written and practical assessments meet international trade standards. The course includes Health and Safety training and practical work assessments to ensure that individuals can perform their duties safely and professionally under the standards of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

This NVQ is specifically tailored to the unique vehicle modifications carried out by TGS, teaching candidates how to perform this specialised work. The training combines mechanical and fitting courses, carefully selected to produce expert Fitters. The NVQ is fully funded by TGS and the GOG Training Centre. It is offered upon successful recruitment selection for those interested in permanent employment as an expert Fitter, starting with the NVQ Apprentice Fitter program in the first year. This qualification is advertised for Apprentice Fitter vacancies. Those studying towards this qualification are given a work contract with the company, and those who complete and pass the NVQ will maintain continuous employment. The intake for the NVQ is managed cyclically.
